Muza Kids is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the arts. Many of us have childhood memories of a dance performance or trip to a museum that helped encourage our love of the arts. However, some children, because of their economic circumstances, will reach adulthood, never having stepped foot in a museum, a theater or a music hall. Muza Kids is a new outreach program designed to provide children from low-income families in the San Jose area, opportunities to attend events in the visual and performing arts over the course of one academic school year. Children and their families will also participate in fun, thought-provoking activities that will help them to connect the arts to their lives. At the end of the school year, youngsters who successfully complete this program will deepen their arts immersion by attending an arts-focused summer camp.
